We specialise in supporting emerging and strategically important industries.
We focus on workforce, training and skills pipelines, policy, programs and funding.

We use our signature SKILLS methodology across all of our projects

How the SKILLS methodology works:

Scan. Everything we do is in a broader political, policy, economic and social context. To ensure this, we start with a desktop scan, qualitative coding and matrix findings to identify the broader environment.

Know Stakeholders. We talk with the right stakeholders for the project - sector leaders, industry, government, unions, delivery organisations, working groups and learners.

Identify Opportunities. We analyse our findings and identify opportunities for simplifying, creating, stepping away from or adapting.

Lead Design. We design solutions to problems and tangible actions to progress the opportunities.

Launch. We provide launch-ready materials to share the findings and next steps with your key supports - staff, stakeholders, funders. We adapt these to your needs, whether it’s a slide deck, Board brief, reporting frameworks or finalised report.

Sustain Impact. We don’t write shelf reports. We provide advice on the governance, stakeholders and project plans to embed the actions and turn them into reality.

Skills Frontier is shaping future skills for Australia’s most ambitious projects.

We support leaders to make sense of where skills policy and funding are heading - so they can lead with clarity, influence change, and invest wisely.

We typically work with Chief Executives, senior strategists, and policy leads from government, industry leaders, training organisations, and think tanks. Our clients are often grappling with two key challenges:

  1. A lack of clear visibility over what’s happening now - and what’s coming next in skills, workforce and funding policy.

  2. Difficulty translating insights into practical strategies that influence business structures and investment decisions, positioning their organisation for future success.
